Spotlight on CNN Don Lemmon

Spotlight Features my Icon in journalism
I wanted to share with you a great writer and Author Don Lemmon. You may know him by watching him on CNN as he is head anchor for the news. I read his bio, and I have purchased his book Transparent. He is skillful, delightful and a breath of fresh air. I enjoy how he can captivate my attention when he tells about the events that shape our world. He speaks to you and uses his facial expressions and body language to convey his point.
The News should be brought to us by folks that get to the story. They went out and got that interview, they pushed forward and made sure they could get the story before anyone else does. This is the whole concept of journalism. I know when I think about being a writer.
I consider the emotions and why this story needs to be told. I have found the best stories are the ones that make you think, make you get out of your chair and do something.
There is so much more involved, then writing words to paper.
One needs to tell a story.

Who is Don Lemmon?
Don Lemmon was born into a family that was strong and would show Don by example the true meaning of going after things you really desire. He was born and raised in Ohio, has family in California that welcomed him in 1990. He has been in the military and has plenty of published work to his credit. He enjoys the California life and he has learned to appreciate and accept who he is.
He has moved around and visited some other places to try and establish roots. He kept moving forward and he pressed on when all of his past material ended up taken when his friend was mugged. His friend and partner had all the material that Don trusted with him to take to a location out of Don's sight. Don didn't want to keep changing the work he had completed.
Don didn't think about all the hours he spent working on all that material for very long. He was ready to dive in head first into a Las Vegas sign and realised he needed a break. He knew he had to get his life together. He was far from the life of poverty that he grew up with. His parents were the driving force to keep him on the right track.
His story and his life is a testament to those who think they will never be able to overcome and carry on with self respect in tact. I find him to be amazing and I am glad to consider him a true Icon.
